Reflections

Picture

Do you ever feel like even though you are so busy with very meaningful work you'd still like to stop every now and then and reflect on what you are doing?
Would you like to gather with others to reflect together?

These small group gatherings will consider:

What does my relationship with God have to do with working on justice in my community?Does my relationship with God impact my work? In what way? How has justice work affected my prayer life? How has it affected my relationship with God? Has justice work affected the way I relate to others? How?

In justice work, what gives me energy that I'd like to do more of? What part drains me and so I'd like to do less of this or stop doing it? What are some new things I'd like to test out doing?

Do I pray about my actions before or during taking a justice action? Do I spend time afterwards reflecting on the part God played in the action, the part my relationship with God played in my actions? Would I like to reflect on this with a community of people? Or do I prefer to reflect privately?

Gathering of Companions

Begun as a response to the virus crisis, Spirit & Justice Companions host a virtual gathering of prayer, ritual, reflection time and sharing.

"I loved...the meditation and the group sharing. With all my kids at home I haven't had much time for reflection and it was much needed to quiet my mind.... It was refreshing for my soul!"

"It was awesome. The meditations and sharing were very uplifting."

JustFaith

Spirit & Justice Companions work on racial injustice and oppression through JustFaith programs, committing themselves to dismantling white supremacy and racism in our community.

JustFaith is designed for groups of 8-15 people who want "a deeper faith, a greater sense of purpose, and a practical understanding of how to make a difference in the world. Participants engage in reading, prayer, and thought-provoking dialogue. They encounter the world, each other, the Gospel, and build lasting relationships."

A gathering of Companions can participate in one of two offered JustFaith programs. A third module is open to those who have participated in the first two program.
