As the rising sun is clear to all, so the glory of the Lord fills all God's works...All of them differ one from another..each is good.

I have stilled my soul, hushed it like a weaned child. Like a weaned child on its mother's lap so is my soul within me. --Psalm 131:2

This is the fasting that I want: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Share your food with the hungry and shelter the oppressed and the homeless. Clothe the naked and do not turn your back on your own. Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear. --Isaiah 58
By endurance and by the encouragement of the scriptures, we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in thoughtful consideration of each other, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify God.
--Romans 15:4-6

Too often racism comes in the form of the sin of omission, when individuals, communities, and even churches remain silent and fail to act against racial injustice when it is encountered.

It’s easy to fear a history that’s not pretty that’s not perfect, that’s not all good. It takes a little bit of courage to tell the truth in any setting. But when it’s done right, there’s something so much better on the other side of it than holding in that lie. We’ve been holding in a lie about our history for a long time, and I think it’s time to speak the truth about it. And I actually believe that we can get to someplace much, much better than we’ve been in America when it comes to racial justice, when it comes to an identity that we can all be proud of. But it is going to take a little bit of courage; and so be willing to do something that’s a little bit uncomfortable in the hope that you’ll get some place that is a lot more liberating.
